essential
these aren’t tools we make. they’re tools we use.
if they’re linked here, it’s because they’ve earned a place in the shop.
these are the basics that make timber framing smoother, safer, and more repeatable—especially if you’re working solo or learning as you go. nothing fancy. nothing fragile. just tools that hold up to real work and long days.
if you’re building your kit from scratch, start here.
nice to have
you don’t need these on day one.
but once your workflow tightens up, these tools save time, reduce mistakes, and lower mental load.
they help with setup, fitting, cleanup, and repeat work—small gains that add up over a season. if you’re framing regularly or teaching yourself in the shop, these are the tools that quietly make things easier.
add them when it makes sense for your work.
a quick note on links
some of the links on this page are affiliate links. they don’t change your price, but they do help support the shop and the time it takes to teach, document, and share this work. we only link tools we actually use.
