most of our layout tools are currently sold out
that’s not by accident, and it’s not something we’re rushing to “fix.”
over the past few months, we’ve been refining the tools for 2026 — not reinventing them, but tightening the system around how people actually work at the timber. fewer decisions. repeatable references. fast, confident layout without overthinking.
the images here show tools in use at the bench — including prototypes used to dial in function, feel, and overall direction.
a quick note on finishes shown:
the blue anodized aluminum ezl pictured is a prototype used during development. for production, aluminum layout tools will start in star hill red as the core system finish. bolt blue remains reserved for stainless as the flagship finish. the chisel shown in red is a prototype. production chisels for 2026 will move to muted, work-focused finishes such as olive, gray, or gunmetal.
we use prototypes to work through proportion, reference spacing, and real-world handling before locking production details. what matters first is how the tool works at the bench.
for 2026:
stainless remains the flagship, finished in bolt blue
aluminum anchors the core system, starting in star hill red
premium runs stay limited and intentional
ezc remains a standalone centerline tool, in its own lane
we’re not opening preorders and we’re not pushing restocks early. production versions are coming online in stages, starting with ezl, followed by the full kits.
if you’re seeing “sold out,” that simply means the next run isn’t ready yet.
we’ll share updates as tools return to stock. until then, this page reflects where things are headed — and how we think about building tools that earn their place at the bench.
#buildrememberrepeat
for 2026, we’ve made a couple of quiet but meaningful updates — adding integrated rulers to the ezl for faster layout, and moving to cerakote on our chisels for better durability in real shop conditions. small refinements we think folks will appreciate over time.
